What is our impact on Fellows?

Jeremiah Kutanya
“The skills I gained from Metis helped me engage parents in their children’s education we are seeing decreased absenteeism and increased learning ”

What is our impact on Learners?

As a result of Cohort 5 Jeremiah Kutanya’s work:
Girls are now able to be a part of the historically all-male Moran tradition. (Morans serve as protectors of Masaai communities).
1,136 learners improve their math and literacy skills through
manyatta-based learning
200+ girls are safe each year from Female Genital Mutilation,
which is no longer practiced in his community
What is our impact on the larger
education ecosystem?

Metis galvanizes collaboration.
Our programs enable individuals and institutions to collaborate for greater impact. For example, after meeting through Metis The Action Foundation, STEM Impact Center & the Ministry of Education, Special Education Directorate planned a cross-sector approach to disability skills development reaching 2,650 girls with disabilities. They won the support of Google.org, earning them over 700,000 USD in funding to implement in all of Kenya’s 8 regions!
