Pathway to Metis: Patrick Munguti is a passionate education innovator dedicated to transforming learning outcomes in rural Kenya through technology. As the Director of Education and IT at Kenya Connect, Patrick has spent over 18 years bridging the digital divide for underserved communities. Since 2015, he has equipped over 500 teachers and 5,000 students with essential digital skills—introducing programs in basic computing, coding, 3D design, robotics, and digital
literacy across 58 partner schools.
A self-taught computer technologist with a background in Natural Resource Management from Egerton University, Patrick is driven by the belief that every child deserves access to quality, future-ready education, regardless of where they live. He has led key initiatives in partnership with Team4Tech and the Raspberry Pi Foundation, and has presented internationally on making STEM is accessible through makerspaces. His professional development includes certifications in EdTech leadership (HP & Cambridge University Press), participatory rural appraisal, and global education awareness.
Beyond his work, Patrick is an environmental advocate who plants trees each rainy season.
