Pathway to Metis: Hellen is an education innovator reimagining what personalized learning looks like for Kenyan learners in the 21st century. She is the founder and CEO of Elimu Plus, a homeschooling and online learning center that blends personalized instruction, play-based methodologies, and inclusive practices to serve a wide range of learners. Her bold idea asks: What if we made personalized homeschooling education accessible to all African learners?

At the heart of Elimu Plus is a mission to digitize education and make high-quality learning accessible to every child, regardless of location or circumstance. The platform supports children who are chronically ill, frequently relocating, homeschooled by choice, or unable to thrive in traditional school environments due to bullying or peer pressure. It also serves Kenyan expatriates globally who want to remain connected to either the Kenyan or British curriculum.

Elimu Plus offers full-time homeschooling support across multiple systems—including CBC, 8-4-4, and the British (IGCSE) curriculum—providing flexibility and continuity for learners wherever they are in the world. Through interactive digital tools, virtual STEM labs, virtual clubs like chess,  and creative arts, and a highly personalized learning approach, Hellen is transforming education into a joyful, inclusive, and globally accessible experience. Her work has already impacted over 500 learners and continues to grow through technology integration and strategic partnerships.
