Bold Question: What if digital tools are used to drive inclusive learning?
Pathway to Metis: Grace Irungu is a passionate educator on a mission to promote inclusivity and accessibility in education, with a particular focus on the different learning disabilities. Her journey began during her time as a student when she found herself tutoring and teaching her peers in high school. It was then that she realized how the examples provided in class often bewildered rather than clarified concepts for learners. This realization ignited a deep-seated desire within her to seek effective ways to help students understand and relate to the subject matter.Â
Upon joining Tech Kidz Africa, she seized the opportunity to develop innovative curricula and learning activities. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printers and CNC machines, her focus is to equip educators with the necessary digital skills and teaching aids to create a comprehensive and immersive learning experience. By doing so, she aims to bridge the gap and ensure that students with different disabilities are empowered with equal access to education. Collaborating with educational institutions, organizations that empower students with learning disabilities, and esteemed experts in the field, She actively champions accessible education regardless of background. Through the integration of technology and the provision of hands-on experiences, her approach enables students with different learning disabilities to actively participate and thrive in their educational journey. Her ultimate vision is to create an inclusive environment where every student, regardless of their disabilities, can unleash their full potential.
"The true mark of education is not knowledge, but the ability to apply it effectively and adapt to a changing world."
